Ken Block is a phenomenal driver and a really rad guy. I actually had a lovely conversation with him a few years back at the 2015 SEMA show. This was a short while after the Hoonicorn (one of my favorite cars ever) came out. Ever since I laid eyes on the Hoonicorn, I was in love. And Ken has done it again, I am in love with his newest creation: The Cossie V2.
Even though the Escort Cosworth is a rare car, this isn't Ken's first. His first Cossie he took rallying ended up engulfed in flames wrong side up on a rally stage. RIP. But this car looks much better in my opinion. It has a gorgeous livery and some extra aerodynamic bits to help this one stay right way up.
The fenders are 4.3 inches wider than usual. The defuser is massive. It has a six-speed Sadev sequential gearbox. The engine is a Ford YB motor that has been tuned by Julian Godfrey Engineering to make 371 horsepower. Power is sent to all four wheels.
The best thing about this car is it wont be a garage queen. The Cossie V2 will travel the world and hit rally stages across the globe at some of the best rally stages. Good man, Ken. Keep building amazing cars and thrashing them like they were meant to be.
